Whale/dolphins/butterflies

Tigers

Moo, bark, meow... roar.

Tomorrow is the first day of school. I'm sorta happy, though. There's nothing to do around the house.

I turned in my application to the Sanrio store yesterday. Finally. I've only ever seen Asian girls working there. I hope it's not required that you speak an Asian language. Oh, well. Maybe it's just that Asian girls are the only ones interested in Hello Kitty. Of course, I am too. So I dunno.

Thursday we went to Marine World, now called Discovery Kingdom. It was pretty awesome; I always love going there. We saw some cool tiger training. One of the tigers refused to cooperate because there was another tiger in the pen behind the main exhibit that he didn't like too much. Too busy defending his territory. But the other one was very interested. Interested in a dog. He got in his pounce position and lunged at the cage when he saw it. But tigers really like the water and this one would dive for little pieces of meat. This was a very cool event and we got some great pictures of it. I'll put them up.

We saw a couple of cool shows with dolphins and their main attraction: Shouka the killer whale. Ok, I had a lot of trouble typing that sentence. Anyway, I can't even imagine how you would go about training these animals. The dolphins were in their teens, but the whale was young. It's just amazing.

Also neat were the walruses. They like to swim upside down.

At the butterfly exhibit, one landed on my shoulder and stayed there a few minutes. Man, some of those butterflies are huge! Seriously huge. I really liked the black and white ones.

Of course the lions, giraffes, elephants (very cool "voices"), camels, mountain lions, sea lions, rays, sharks, etc. were all there too.

I would really like to work at a place like that some day.

School

Well, I took my sister to the mall the other day and we stopped by the Sanrio store. I noticed a help wanted sign in the window and I picked up a job application. So I'm filling it out right now and I think I'll turn it in tomorrow. I really hope this works out.

Yesterday my grandparents came over for my birthday party. It was a great party. We had barbecued hot dogs and a really good ice cream cake. The theme was Spongebob Squarepants. Yes, I requested it. Anyway, I got some great gifts. My favorite is a framed picture of me at Sea Ranch standing on a rock on a very beautiful day with my arms up in the air. That day was probably the best of my life. Yes.

In a couple hours I have to go to my school registration. Blech. That means everyone will see me with my hair dark. Oh, I want to get bangs next time I go in to get my hair done. Then I'll really look different.

Ok, I kinda want school to start, just so it can end. Next summer I'm going to Hawaii and I'll just keep thinking of that the whole year to get me through it. I think this year will be my hardest. I have some pretty tough classes, like physics, calculus, and AP biology. Yeah. But I'm taking this really cool PE class called "Body Shaping." You get to do stuff like yoga, etc. Very neat. So that should be a nice break in my schedule.

So I have to go back to heck, I mean high school. Oh, well. At least today will be over with and everyone will see me.

Very cool

Ok, Jersey Boys was freaking awesome!! Seriously.

Last night my mom bought four tickets to see it again in September. We're gonna take my grandparents. I know they'll love it. Yay!! I used my money from my work at my grandmother's store and was able to pay for two of the tickets. So my mom spent 200 dollars instead of 400 dollars. Hopefully the same cast we saw will still be there. We saw it at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco.

Today I'm getting my hair cut. My roots are showing so I'll have to get rid of the little pests. My senior photo is in a couple of days. Blech. I hate taking school photos. An extra blech.

So I only have a couple weeks left of summer. I have no more plans except for a trip to Marine World. I really like going there.

Well, I'm off to finish watching the Yankee game.

Home

Well, I'm home from Sea Ranch. I miss it, but it is good to be home.

I'm off to San Francisco in fifteen minutes. My mom and I are going to see Jersey Boys.
I guess I'm looking forward to it. No, I am looking forward to it. Yes.

I don't have time to write any more, but I'll report back on the show tonight.

Oh, it's good to watch my baseball teams again! Barry Bonds hit a home run last night and I watched the game Tuesday when he hit number 756! Yay!

Well, I paid 50 dollars for this

It was clear and beautiful yesterday and it is again today. Yay! Yesterday was a bit windy, though.

My grandmother and my sister are coming tomorrow for my birthday and we'll be going to Mendocino with them.

So today is basically our last day here since my sister will be here tomorrow. No more peace and quiet - just the blaring of cartoons. To be honest I'm really not looking forward to her visit at all. My mom wants her here though. My sister hates the beach and my mom will have to stay with her in the house. It kinda sucks. But I am happy that my grandmother will be here.

Tomorrow we are going to barbecue at the playground. Yay! My mom might bake a cake for me or we might buy one from this little bakery at the grocery store.

My mom and I are going to spend the day at the beach. I think my mom might end up regretting inviting my sister up here.

I'm very disappointed right now.

From Sea Ranch

I'm sitting here in the master bedroom of my Sea Ranch house and it's freezing cold. We have the heater on, but my mom left the window open in the bedroom. We share this bedroom even though there are two others because it has a really nice bathroom.

Well, we had to pay 50 dollars, but the Internet is working. I get seven days to use it.

It's overcast today but for a couple of days the sun was out. I love to sit outside in the lounge chair and let the sun come down on me. It gets pretty warm here, which is nice. But not today.

Tomorrow my mom and I are driving to Mendocino. We always go to Mendo Burger up there. It's very good.

We've been going to the beach everyday. This morning we got up at seven to see the low tide. It revealed a couple of starfish and a million green squishy anemone type creatures. But the seals were still out. They are the cutest things, especially when they try to inch their way along the rocks. The other day they beached themselves. I've never seen them on the beach before. I watched one of them swim up to the shore and let the waves carry him onto the sand. He then bounced as quickly as he could to find a spot amongst the others. They tend to snort at each other and whack each other with their flippers. It's very funny.

My mom and I brought our bikes with us. She hasn't ridden since she was a kid and she was determined not to ride at Sea Ranch. She convinced herself that she would just fall over. But she did try it and of course she still knew how to ride. Now she asks me if I want to go riding with her. Heh. We like to ride to this little playground and then walk to the beach from there. That's were we went today, but we drove.

The day before yesterday the sun was out and it was very warm. We walked to another beach and just sat in the sun. It was the best day so far. When the sun shows up again I'd like to go back.

I will write again tomorrow after I return from Mendocino.
