Futuristic kitteh

Baseball is back

Hey, sorry I haven't posted in a while.

I had a great Spring Break at Grammy's house. The only homework I did was math.

Saturday I met with Deepika at the Pleasanton Public Library to work on math. I had already finished but I got a couple more problems that I hadn't been able to do during the week. I also checked out three books on the Navajo people for a research paper I'm doing on them for English.

I checked out two more books today at the Las Po library. Now I have five books plus a thick U.S. history book.

Speaking of U.S. history....

James (?) Carville had called former Democratic presidential candidate Bill Richardson a "Judas" for publicly endorsing Barack Obama. Richardson had been a close friend of the Clintons.

In 1824, John Quincy Adams ran for president against Democrat Andrew Jackson. One of Jackson's friends John C. Calhoun ended up supporting Adams. Jackson then called Calhoun a "Judas." I read about that today in my history book.

And speaking of presidential candidates, I saw a car with a "Barack Obama for President '08" bumper sticker. Also, etched in dirt, someone had written "F*** McCain" on the back of the car. Haha.

Also, today was opening day for the Yankees!!!!! They were going to play the Toronto Blue Jays, but guess what, it was pouring. So the game has been rescheduled for tomorrow. This is the last season that will be played at the original Yankee Stadium. A new stadium is being built next door. Also, the new Mets stadium, formally the historic Shea Stadium, is now called CitiField.

Okay, baseball season is back and I will be once again reporting daily on the latest news and scores. I am sorry if you hated that..... haha.

So.... Joe Torre is now the manager of the Dodgers. But the rest of the Yankee team is intact. Alex Rodriguez has been signed for a ten-year deal. But he won't even be playing ten years from now. He's already 32.

The Giants had a horrible Spring Training with a record of 9-23-2. They took down the Barry Bonds Homerun Tracker that had been posted inside the stadium. Even though Barry isn't on the team anymore, I think they should have left the tracker up. He doesn't have a team right now. I guess no one wants to deal with him. I have a feeling no other fans will want him either.

Roger Clemens has no team either. As you may know he has now been in court over this whole steroids thing because his personal trainer said he personally injected him with them. What does he have to gain from this?

Hopefully this whole witch hunt will end this season. Or else everyone will be hanged.

I was watching Glenn Beck, a conservative talk show host. He had a man who created "Vets for Freedom." Vets for Freedom is a troop of Iraq war veterans that travel the country going to schools and talking about their experiences. Apparently some parents in Minnesota had them skip their kids' school because they felt Vets for Freedom is too "political." Glen Beck of course thought this was ridiculous, even though the creator admitted that they often speak their opinions of the war to the kids. Then he said that the "Al Gore movie" (An Inconvenient Truth) was too political to be shown in school. I actually watched that movie in school for Chemistry. No, Glenn, it's not political, it's just inconvenient. Moron.

So.... I am watching Trading Spaces right now.

Also, while I was in Sonoma, my mom and dad painted my bedroom. Two walls are pink and two plus the ceiling are white. Then my mom and I put up Hello Kitty decals. There are twenty-five of them. So now my room looks like an eight-year-old's room.

Deepika

My new friend Deepika is really funny.

She has this habit of completing your sentences for you. She predicts the last few words you're going to say and says them with you. Like, for that sentence, she would say "says them with you" along with me.

Also, my I-pod is dying. It used to last for an hour after it was fully charged, and now it lasts for fifteen minutes. I'm sad.

Gah!

Ok, I have to comment on this whole Reverend Wright mess......

I was just watching Anderson 360 and they had this one Republican lady.

She said, "Wright is angrily preaching hate and condemnation. I don't see how any American would not stand up and walk right out of that church."

Okay. What about all those white pastors that speak angrily with hate and condemnation towards gays and people who support abortion? I don't see how any American wouldn't stand up and walk out of that church.

And can no one understand why someone would hate America? Are his words really that shocking and repulsive? I don't think so.

Anyway, I just hate, angrily and with condemnation, the right. Yes, I am full of hate, too. Call me a hypocrite. Republicans. Christian conservatives. They are the ones with true hate in my opinion.

This is why I hate, angrily and with condemnation, religion in general. I hate Christianity. I don't think it is uplifting at all. It spawns hate and intolerance. Catholics are nuts! Did you know that the Pope just created 7 new sins? Littering, pollution. What a joke. So I'm going to hell cuz I left a candy wrapper on the ground?

I have no problem with people who are spiritual. I am spiritual, too. I just don't believe in a judgemental God. I don't believe that some people go to Heaven and some to Hell. I don't believe that some people are evil or sinful. Who has the right to define sin? Homosexuality is not a sin. Abortion is not a sin. Littering is not a sin. Who has the right to say that? God? The Bible? Nothing and no one does.

I don't know if you all agree with me or not. You don't have to post an opinion. And it's ok if you disagree with everyone I just said. This is just my relationship with religion and how it has affected me personally.

Spring is here

I donated a pumpkin to the zoo today...

We gave parts to the goats, and other parts to the pigs and birds.

Another Children's Zoo keeper, Margaret, helped two vets work with the two old goats, Gerta and Rafiki. They had to give Gerta some sort of fluid, and they had to take blood from Rafiki.

Margaret is very cool. I think she's the head of the Children's Zoo. She has a little office in the break room.

There was a lot of people at the goat barn today. Lots of little kids. Some of them were trying to scare the sheep out of their pen and onto the rocks, and then back again.

So I haven't seen the lemurs in quite a while..... I hope they're still doing well. I think that girl Eugenia, the one with the control issues, is their little friend for the afternoon. She's the one that feeds them and cleans their food baskets.

I am now the "crazy bird lady." I take care of the birds every week. I don't know what Sarah does in the afternoon. Before lunch, Alan has me feed the pigs and clean out the birds' area, while Sarah watches the barn. I don't know what she does after that. Actually I don't know what any of them do after that. Just watch the barn and feed the lemurs, then pigs at four, I guess. And rabbits at four, too. But not major cleaning like the kind that takes us two hours in the morning. Except maybe hosing out the lemur nighthouse. But that doesn't take nearly as long.

Anyway, I thought about changing my work hours to Friday afternoon so I wouldn't have to get up as early, but Alan already has two helpers then.

------

I met this girl in math the other day. She wants to meet with me at 3 today to do some homework. Her name is Deepika. She is 17. She said, "so what time do you want to get together tomorrow?" instead of first asking do I actually want to get together tomorrow.

I sort of don't like doing homework with other people. It rarely ever gets done, cuz the other person wants to talk about other things. Also Deepika got a 54 (%) on the last test. I let her borrow my test to help her do test corrections that Mr. Boerker is letting kids do to get a slightly higher grade.

So she wants me to help her with the material. I am not a good tutor. It just means that the homework will take a longer time to get done, since there is so much.

Also, I learned another thing about Katie yesterday. She wants to go into the "adult industry." Instead of nursing, like she planned. She said her boyfriend does not like the idea, and she thinks that's "cute."

Mom said that most girls who choose to do that have been abused in the past. They have very low self-esteem. Well, I'm not about to ask Katie, "hey, have you ever been abused in the past? Just wondering." I honestly don't think that's the case with her, anyway. I don't know why she wants to do that. Strange.

I am now on Spring Break. I am going to go drink and party like all other college kids do.

No title

I got the highest score on the math test..... again.

Also, my math teacher made the same analogy that I have made to myself about what it's like to be in school. It's like holding your breath. When school's over, you can do other things and relax again.

American Idol is on in thirty minutes. I was SHOCKED last week when David Hernandez was kicked off. He was so good! I think that since it was realized that he had been a stripper at a gay nightclub, some homophobes might have been "offended." Poor little things....not. Idiots.

But maybe that's not it. Maybe he just got forgotten.

Anyway, after last week's horror show, David A. better be good tonight!!!!!!!

Happy Pi Day!

Today is Pi Day. 3.14......

Yesterday as I sat in the cafeteria, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was playing on the big projector screen.

Anyway, I don't really have much to say today. I am going to sleep this entire weekend.

I felt really sick and dizzy for a couple days last week. I still feel kinda off.

And what about LOST???

I was reading TV Guide magazine and it said that Michael was coming back, but I hadn't really figured that out yet, so I thought it kinda ruined the surprise.

So.... Sun and Jin are part of the Six. And Jin is dead? And married at the same time?

Didn't you think it was horrible when Jin gave that panda to that ambassador instead of Sun?

Also, I hated Juliet for telling Jin about Sun's affair. What business is it of hers? I understand that she was trying to keep Sun from leaving, but to risk ruining her marriage? That's supposed to get Sun to trust you?

Anyway, just more confusion and questions.... what else is new?

201st post

Well, the Earth Club president, Tiffany, finally e-mailed me back. Apparently she had sent out an e-mail saying the meeting was canceled, but I never got it...

The meeting was moved to today, so it's a good thing I checked my e-mail this morning.

There was just a couple of us there this time. No other officers besides Tiffany. So they all voted me to be Secretary.

Dr. Ansell, one of the club advisers, was there this time. He is a really nice guy. He teaches chemistry. I'll remember that when I sign up for that class next semester.

He suggested we all go kayaking in Tomales Bay..... Um, Tomales Bay? That vibrant breeding ground for white sharks? No, thanks! Why can't we go kayaking someplace cool and fun and safe? Like Del Valle. But they laugh at that idea for some reason..... like it's too amateur or something. Like, who wants to go to boring ol' Del Valle, that place for wussies? Whatever. I told them I won't go if it's in the ocean. I don't care if they think that's not cool enough for them.....

Anyway! I have a lot of math homework and Bethany wants me to draw her a picture of a jaguar for one of her school project things. I have drawn the one above several times. It is one of my favorite pics to draw.

American Idol

Well, I didn't think the girls were as good as the guys.

But I voted for Carly, Ramielle, and Syesha.

I hope Kristy goes home.

Woof!

Well, John McCain is the official Republican nominee.... Hucka-brat can go back to little Arkansas and have a good cry. Haha.

It's too close to call at this moment for the Democrats.

I know why all the kids knew about my teacher's absence last week. She had sent out an e-mail. But I never got it....

She said that her 81-year old mother and her little cutesy dog were attacked by a German Shepherd-Blue Heeler mix dog. Yikes!!

I remember once when I was walking Bethany in her stroller, we were stalked by this rottweiler. I was really terrified for my life. He kept following us, with his body low to the ground like he was about to strike.

Big dogs can be dangerous.

Speaking of dogs, Mom wants to get a shi-tzu.... I do not like cutsey little dogs. I like bigger dogs. I would be happy with a beagle, or terrier or something. But not a little white fluff ball.

Gah!

I am pissed right now.

I tried to go to the Earth Club meeting that was supposed to be today, but no one showed up.
I e-mailed the president to ask if it was canceled or something.

I was really looking forward to that.....
