Dang tennis

Hi everyone!

I had a GREAT lesson today with Katie. I rode Shane again. Tori, a girl who has been riding for a while, fell of her horse. Her horse was trotting up to a jump and suddenly stopped, and she fell right off. Luckily her horse was very short. She is ok. Apparently she falls quite often. But she is a really good rider.

And Katie signed me up for Tuesday again. She asked me if I wanted to come in as she wrote down my name on the calendar. Heh.

Also, Sam showed up for a couple minutes and told me I looked really good.

So, we watched the women's final at the Australian Open today. Serena Williams beat (my new favorite player) Dinara Safina. She beat her 6 to 0 in the first set and 6 to 3 in the second. It was pretty sad. I felt really bad for Safina.

But tonight is the men's final. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will play. Wanna know something amazing? Those two guys have won 14 out of the last 15 major tournaments between them. 14 out of 15!!! I watched every one of them, but still it is amazing to me.

Anyway, guess what? Mom and I still haven't watched any new episodes of LOST. Last week the first episode was erased because of our Tennis recordings. So we taped the rerun this past week. Now we have two episodes to watch. We are going to watch them in a couple of minutes. Yay!

Ok, bye!

Long post, sorry

Joellymo, I laughed when I read your comment about Grammy's experiments in chemistry class. Haha!

I thought I would give you a list of the new people that I see everyday. You better commit it to memory! Just kidding.

Mrs. Pihl (pronounced "peel"): Biology teacher. Very nice and funny. She says a lot of words that I have never heard before.

Mrs. Cuellar: Anthropology teacher. Very nice. Her family is from Spain. She used to be an archaeologist and traveled around the world studying other cultures. She was asked to go on a scientific expedition to Papua New Guinea, but then suddenly the funds were lost and the trip was cancelled.

Mr. Rosenkranz: Chemistry teacher. Kinda odd. Talks slowly. Supposed to be Mr. Cappucio. But nice.

Mrs... well, she prefers to be called Tracy: Speech teacher. Very very nice. Young.

Chris: Chem lab partner. Large with long blond hair. Nice, but scatterbrained. He cracked me up yesterday when he kept getting his measurements mixed up and had to cross them out. He would swear quite a lot. Heh.

Anyway, that is that.

I talked to a girl in my bio class. She said she tried to add into Zoology with Mrs. Ho (a notoriously hard bio/zoology teacher). She said that class meets three times a week and has two, three hour labs EACH WEEK. Yikes. Two labs, two labs??!! Oi. Well, in reality I am also doing two labs each week. And chemistry also meets three times a week. But two from the same class, in addition to biology? That's three labs per week. I couldn't do it. If I do take zoology here some day, I might take it by itself or alongside very easy classes, like "Intro to Drawing" or "Dance." Ya know what I mean?

You have to apply to four year schools one year in advance, typically in the fall. So, I will have to get all my transfer classes completed, but then I will have a year after that before I start at a new school.

That means that I will have no required classes to take for a whole year. I guess I should plan on taking some fun, light classes that I am sure I can an A in. I know that in high school, only your grades from 9th to 11th grade are seen by college administrations. However, colleges do look at your grades from the first quarter of 12th grade. It is not uncommon for colleges to take back their acceptance of you based on senior year grades. That's pretty scary.

So, I am not sure if the same thing happens for transfer students. I mean, after I apply upon finishing my transfer classes, maybe the college will look at subsequent courses as well. That's why I think I will pick some easy classes to finish that sort of gap year. Know that I mean?

Anyway, I have of course been thinking about this, as I am getting closer to finishing at Las Po with each semester. I am half way there, with three out of six semesters to be completed in May of this year.

Finally, I had a weird dream the other night. We were sitting at home, watching the news. The news said that there would a huge flood that would destroy the city. We only had ten minutes to evacuate. Everyone in my family was there, including our animals. Yeah.

Ok, I will stop talking now. Bye!

Final note: I think I already mentioned this, but we will be dissecting a sheep's heart and liver in bio later on. And on Monday, we will be looking at cat ovaries under the microscope.

Work, work, work

Well, I am watching MSNBC and the breaking news is that Rod Blagojevich has been removed from office. That guy is pretty crazy.

Today was our first real chemistry lab. It was just counting and weighing stuff and calculating volume and density. Kinda easy. My lab partner is Chris. He sort of chose me. I didn't want to work with him. But I didn't say that.

Anyway, that is all for now.

Hi

Hey.

Well, I have been doing so much stuff for chem, bio, and speech, that I have pretty much forgotten about my fourth, once a week class.

Oi. I mean, I didn't forget. I just put it on the back burner. I spend 5 hours and 45 minutes each week in bio class alone. Then about the same amount of time in chem per week. So... anthro kinda got lost. I already had to a make a speech in speech class. So I spent some time on that.

Anyway, now I am studying last week's notes for a quiz later tonight. We will have a quiz each week based on the previous week. So yeah.

Ok, um, now I lost all my thoughts, so bye.

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Oi

Hiya.

Well I am happy and sad today. Wow "and" and "sad" are the same letters. hehheheh.

Anyway, I am happy because I had a great lesson with Katie today. I rode Shane. He is a good horse.

But I am sad b/c my future boyf--- er-- a tennis player that I like retired from his match against Roddick. As in Andy Roddick. Yes, that idiot. Well, most likely he will play Federer next and will be pounded into the ground by him. Haha. (I will let you guess who that other guy is.)

But this really ticks me off. The on court temperature in Roddick's match was ... wait for it... 136 degrees Fahrenheit. Yeah. So, my lover had to retire b/c of this. But all the commentators are saying that it is his fault because he wasn't in good enough shape to handle the heat. Um, good enough shape?? Humans die in those kinda temperatures. It is so dangerous. I don't see how any human can be in good enough shape to stand that. Humans are not machines. No matter how hard we may train, there are some things that we just can't withstand. Extreme heat is one of those things.

Well, that is just my opinion. Mom agrees with me. But no one on TV does. Or if they do, they are afraid to admit it.

But what really gets me is this: There is a retractable roof over the stadium they played in. But no one thought it was necessary to close it. Then what the freak is the roof for for God's sake???There is also supposed to be a "heat rule" in which all play is stopped if temps reach a high enough number. But this year that rule is now up to the chair umpire. Only he or she can decide when to stop play. I mean, what the heck??

Anyway... I will stop screaming now. By the way, "he" was defending champion.

So... bye!

New words

Well, today was so long. Yes. Very long. I was at school from 9:30 am to 4:20 pm.

My bio teacher is pretty funny. Today she said something sounded "high fallutin" and something else was deceptively "rinky dinky."

Anywa, that is all. Bye.

Ah

Hiya.

Well, today I felt pretty weird. During chemistry I got a wave of nausea for some reason. I dunno why. But afterwards I had a grilled cheese sandwich and now I feel better.

Next is biology. It starts at 12. Then at 1:30 I have my first bio lab. For this one we will practice using a microscope and look little Dresophilias (fruit flies.)

Anyway, that is all. Bye!

Riding

This was my first riding lesson since leaving. It has been exactly three weeks since I rode last time.

I felt a little off and tired today. So I am going in on Tuesday to get back my rhythm.

Gracie is doing very well. Her leg still looks a little bad though. She won't be ridden for a while, just to let you know. She needs time to heal and gain her strength back.

And, that is all. Bye!

%%^&((#

This will be a rant post. Sorry.

I watched Hannity and Bill O'Reilly last night. Just a little bit. Sean Hannity interviewed Rush Limbaugh. Have you ever really listened to Limbaugh in an interview? It's not just that his ideas are wrong. It's his communication. He says words that are real words, but he puts them in an order that doesn't make sense. He makes up grammar. I mean, you just can't understand what he is trying to say. This was especially apparent when he tried to explain why Democrats don't believe in liberty or pursuit of happiness. Or life. Yeah.

And Billo said that.. dang it I forgot what he said. But it was stupid.

Also on my way home from school today, someone behind me decided to go against traffic as cars were coming so he could pass me. Yeah. I was going above the speed limit, but wanted to go./ even faster. If there is one thing I hate in the world more than anything it is impatient, fast, and dangerous drivers. It seriously makes me mad. I hate them. Why do people feel the need to do stupid things in order to get ahead of someone? I was turning off that road in two minutes and he would have had the whole road to himself. Idiot. Why are people so impatient????? Once agian, me hates that.

Anyway, that is all. Class went by very fast today, because it was only 50 minutes long.

Oh yeah. A police car passed that guy one minute after he passed me. He would have gotten a ticket if the police car had seen him. Stupid.

Ok, that is all. Bye!

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Heh...sorry

Ok, ok, ok, sorry to bombard you guys with posts today...but...

I have been thinking. Dangerous, I know. Anyway, I have been thinking about where I shall go after Las Po. Believe it or not, I think I have taken UC San Diego off my list. I know, right, that was my dream for many years. But really, now I see that there are other options that may be more comfortable for me. Like UC Davis as I have mentioned. Mostly I like that school because it's close and it has a good zoology/vet program. But I have never been there (I don't even know where it is). Mom says it gets really hot there. I don't like hot.

But now... drum roll please... I am looking at San Francisco State University. Yes. SFSU.

It is really close. The weather is nice. It's by the ocean (like UCSD). It's mostly liberal. And it has a zoology major program. I checked. It also has a Japanese major program. So... how about this? A major in zoology and a minor in Japanese! Yeah, I know. Extremely random. Can you tell I have no clue what I want to do? No clue. So, maybe because of that I shouldn't make any decisions yet. But still.

I will have to wait probably until my last semester here at Las Po to take any kind of zoology class. And chances are I won't take a Japanese class, unless it is offered at a good time. It is only offered in certian semesters. And it doesn't count for transfer units. I dunno why. It's probably the hardest language to learn compared to European languages. It seems like it would even count for more units than those classes.

But anyway, I figure that if I go for a degree in Japanese, it will look good if I have taken that class, ya know? Yeah. So hopefully I can.

Of course.... I still have about two years left here. Anything can happen between now and then. I might discover that I hate chemistry and biology after this semester. Or I might discover that I love something else, something I have never even considered.

One thing I know for sure... I am not majoring in math!! But to major in zoology, you have to take two semesters of calculus. How the heck am I gonna be able to do that if I haven't taken math for two or three years???????? (*&^$@>. Oi. You just can't escape it. Unless you major in Japanese. No calculus required for Japanese.

So yeah, zoology not lookin' so hot. Biology not lookin' so hot. Too much math that I just can't do. How will I manage? I hate math!!!!! It ruins everything!!!! Why do you need to know about derivatives and integrals to take care of lemurs at a zoo? That's all I wanna do. Just take care of animals. I can tell you from first hand experience that zoo keepers do not use calculus when they go to work everyday.

Anyway... sorry about this. I will stop now. Bye.

Forgot to mention

Something else...

Well I have been watching the Australian Open and I just watched Venus Williams lose to a Spanish woman.

And Mom taped LOST last night so we will watch it tomorrow.

Today I went to Subway and a guy there liked my new rainboots and asked me where I got them. He said he wants to get some for his niece. I saw another girl wearing rainboots today in class.

And Caroline Kennedy was running for the senate, then she wasn't, then she was, and now she isn't. Jeez. Well, it is something to talk about anyway.

So... bye!

Third day

Well, I congratulate myself on my 400th post today!

And, boy, I had a hard time staying awake at chem lab this morning. I got up at six thirty, but I didn't go to bed until 11:30.

Yes, this lab will be quite... difficult. Lots of safety rules and stuff. The lab room actually has a shower where people go if they get chemicals on their skin. It is surrounded by a curtain, and people actually have to take their clothes off. Right in front of everyone (well, behind a little curtain, that is right in the lab room.) I hope I never have to do that.

Today was just a safety briefing. Next week we start our labs with one about measuring things and counting things. No chemicals or anything, just pennies.

And I gave my speech today in Speech class. I volunteered to go first. I wasn't very nervous, because I was just talking about something I was extremely familiar with. Mine was the longest one. Heh. I always give long speeches.

Some of them from the other students were very interesting. A lot of mothers mentioned as influential figures. One girl said the most influential event in her life was when she became a "follower of Christ." Another guy said he was inspired by Obama's inauguration. I sort of forget the others.

Anyway, oh yeah, my anthropology class last night was pretty awesome. It seems that it will be a very very interesting class. It's all about evolution, and early humans, and modern primates, and other cultures and stuff. I like all that. And the best part is that I can eat dinner beforehand so I am not hungry during class. That was my problem during my last two night classes.

I still miss Mr. Sato and English 7, as well as Ms. Klask back from my first semester. They are my two favorite teachers so far at Las Po. But I think I will really like my anthropology teacher too. Not that I don't like my other teachers this semester. My speech teacher is pretty cool. I like her. And my bio teacher is nice too. She is funny. My chem teacher is a little boring and he has a soft voice. Usually I sit in the back of my classrooms, but I think I will sit in the front in his class.

Yes, I prefer to have teachers who are female, youngish, with neat handwriting, and with a loud voice. But then again, Mr. Sato wasn't female and I liked him. So every teacher is different I guess.

That is all. Bye!

More

A couple more notes....

My chemistry teacher is not my chemistry teacher. He was supposed to be Mr. Capuccio, so it said in the class catalog and my schedule. But now it is Mr. Rozensomething. But it is still the same class... I think.

And he likes to say the word water very strangely. He says it, "wohter." This reminds me of Mr. Lipman from high school, who would say "chwenty" instead of "twenty." Gah, that bugs me!

Anyway, also someone complimented my new boots yesterday.

And... there was something else... oh well. I forget. So bye!

Yikes

Well, jeezus freezus munchin pants.

I had both chemistry and biology today. I thinks I gonna die soon. Too much!!! Ahh!!! Oi. It will be a lot of work. But oh well. I will do my best.

And... anthropology tonight at 7. The nice thing about that is that I can eat dinner beforehand. So I won't be thinking about it during class like I did the last two semesters. Heh.

So... yes. I cannot believe this is already my third semester. I have been at LPC for a year.

I saw some familiar faces in my classes so far. A girl from English 1A is in my chemistry class. And I saw Ashley Mello, who you may or may not remember from my Calc class last semester. I wonder how she did in that class.

Anyway... I think that is all. Tomorrow is my chem lab at 8 am. And then I have speech. I don't think I told you that our first speech is tomorrow. It is supposed to be about someone or some event that was influential in your life. Tracy said you get full credit (5 points) even if you just stand up and say your name. Haha.

I think I will talk about my transition from high school to LPC. I dunno. Not very exciting.

Ok, that is all. Bye!

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Ahh!

Well. Here we are. Back at home. Whaddaya think?

Yes, this is my back home/ school/ weird dream post.

I will begin by saying that I feel fine today and I slept fine last night. Really. I don't feel off at all.

And today was the first day of school. I had one class - Speech. Well, this seems like it will be a very fun and easy class. The teacher prefers to be called by her first name (Tracy) and she says she designed the class to be fun and comfortable because she knows that most people hate public speaking.Yes. No textbook required.

I had a very terrible dream last night. The most frightening dream I have ever had (or at least remembered.) I have some dreams that stick in my memory for a long time, and I think this will be one of them.

It was quite long and complicated (I think it took about three hours.) It was really a dream within a dream. In my dream, I had a dream. Understand? Anyway, I will just tell you the scariest moment. In my dream I fell asleep next to my mom in her bed. Then I proceeded to dream. It was semi-lucid. I was in my backyard. At the end, it became dark and rainy. I put my face up to my mom's bedroom window and I saw my real self, in bed, sitting up, and staring back at me. I looked white and gaunt, like I was dead. It terrified me so bad that I woke up screaming. But still I was only dreaming. I didn't actually wake up screaming.

After that, I dreamed that Posey and Bernie and Jack had turned evil and were trying to kill me. Posey sat on my throat and tried to strangle me. Jack tried to tear my limbs off. Max was there too, but he wasn't evil. He was just sick, very sick.

Anyway, there was more to it, but I won't write about it.

So... home good, school good, dreams bad. Bye!

Oh duh! It is inauguration day! Mom and I taped it and are going to watch it momentarily.

Short post

Hello.

Last night we all went out to the 100 Yen store and then Starbucks.

Maki made some pasta for dinner.

This morning Paul had a "Poop Explosion."

And... that is all. Bye!

PS

Hiya! I know it's the middle of the night in CA but I thought I would write this anyway.

I am very happy here in Japan and I wish my trip were a little bit longer, but.... I really can't wait to go back to school. I would never say that during K-12 school years.

I just like being out and about, out of the house, ya know. And I like getting up and getting dressed in the morning. For some reason I really like that, no matter where I am going. (Except maybe not the dentist.)

Anyway... that is all. On Sunday we are going to visit various places in Tokyo. That should be fun.

Today I bought a shirt at Okajima and the young saleslady tried to talk to me a
lot. I think she was trying to explain the different styles of shirts there were and the different cuts. I dunno know though. Then she gave me a little card with a place for my name and birthday and she tried to explain to me what that card was for. She put a stamp on the back. I think it is for getting "points" every time you buy something from that store. But really I dunno.

So.. haha... that is all.

Update

Hello

Well, Maki made some very delicious curry last night. And she made me two bowls of ramen today. Yes.

Today I took a little walk and also took some photos with Joel's camera. Bye!

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

For Mom

Mom, have you ordered my chemistry textbooks yet? I checked and they are now available online. Please tell me you haven't forgotten. I am sure you have not. Have I gotten my last biology book or my parking permit? I hope so.

And No, I am not spending a ton of money. I have spent less than one hundred dollars, including both here and at the airport. I went to the ATM today and got 5,000 yen.

Also, today Joel and I went out for Mos burger. It was quite freezing, freezing cold outside and very windy.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

Hello again

Hi!

Today I went out with Joel for a curry lunch and then we went to Starbucks. Yes. We saw some regulars there that he told me about. Haha.

Anyway, that is all.

Monday, January 12, 2009

Hellooooo

Konnichi wa!

Well, I just spend the rest of my money on a pair of shorts, a pair of high socks, a pair of leg warmers, and a notebook. Yes.

I may have already said this, but I noticed a distinct style among Japanese girls here. They wear skirts or fuzzy shorts with either leggings, leg warmers, or high socks, and also boots. Even in the snow. I have decided that I shall steal their trends and bring them to America. I am pretty sure American girls will think that look is a little odd for the wintertime. I did. But I like it anyway. This reminds me of when I came last time. I stood in line at customs and I noticed some American girls making fun of and laughing at the clothes of some Japanese girls, in a mean way. I thought badly of them. I personally prefer the Japanese look to the American trend of skinny jeans paired with uggs.

Anyway, I am sure I will start a new fashion craze. Haha. Or not.

So... I had McDonalds pancakes, Starbucks hot chocolate, a bacon cheeseburger, and ramen yesterday. Oi. That is a lot of filling stuff. Heh. But I managed. Yes.

And... that is all for now. Joel is teaching class, Paul is playing with his toys, and Maki is doing laundry. Apparently, last night Paul had a long screaming fit. But I didn't hear anything - I was asleep.

Bye!

Matsumoto

Well, Matsumoto was very nice and beautiful today. We saw lots of snow everywhere. Joel has put pictures from our trip on Flickr.

Anyway, I ate a lot again today. Yes. That is all. Bye!

Sunday, January 11, 2009

Good morning

Hi!

It hasn't snowed again since the other day. It has been very sunny and cold. But I have been very warm when we go outside because of my jackets, etc. And it is pretty warm inside the house.

Yesterday we went shopping at Eclan at Kofu Station. I bought a plaid skirt. I noticed the style here is for girls to wear skirts or shorts with heavy jackets. Joel says they wear that even when it is snowing.

Today we are going to Matsumoto. I will try to take some pictures.

Joel and Maki and Paul are doing very well. Paul is pretty happy, but sometimes he gets fussy. He crawls all over the place.

I have also been watching a lot of Japanese television. It's funny... I have been hearing words that I had learned before (a long time ago) that I had forgotten and suddenly I remember them. Haha.

Anyway, I think that is all. I shall write back after we get home today. Bye!

Food

Well, you guys will be very jealous of me. Today I had tonkatsu for lunch and yakiniku for dinner. Heh.

Saturday, January 10, 2009

Strange

Hey!

Well, I had a very strange dream last night. I dreamed that I was in my backyard at home and I began seeing people I knew from high school. But they were zombies. At first there were just a few, but then more and more started coming. I used a hose to keep them away. Then I used a long wooden stick to beat them with. Heh.

Anyway, um, yeah. Yesterday I sat in with Joel's class. There were three students there.

So.. that is all. Bye!

Friday, January 9, 2009

Hello again

hi!

Well, I slept until after 9:00 today. That is very good.

I went to eat curry with Joel for lunch. It was very good.

Now Maki and Paul are taking a nap and Joel is with one of his students. So I am ... writing this.

Anyway, that is all. We will probably go to Matsumoto tomorrow or Monday.

Bye!

Thursday, January 8, 2009

Hello

Hi!

I slept much better last night. Yes. I don't remember when I fell asleep last night, but it was probably around 6:30. I woke up at 5:30. It is snowing right now.

So that is all. Bye!

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Japan

hi!

I am writing on Joel's computer and the keys are all weird. It is a Japanese keyboard.

Anyway, I have had very little sleep in the last 48 hours. My legs are very sore for some reason. I am trying to eat a lot.

I went to bed at 10:00 last night and woke up at 3:15 am. I slept for the last three hours of the flight to Narita, and a little bit on the bus. i dunno. I am very off. And caps lock is in a really bad location here.

So... that is all. I made it here alright. yes. Bye!

Saturday, January 3, 2009

Good ride today

Hey.

I had a really good lesson with Katie and Carmen today. Before my lesson I saw Jessie riding. Jessie is a little bit insane. She rides really fast and she jumps really high. Really high.

Anyway, that is all. Bye.
